History

The name "Malbrit" has been around for many years, beginning in 1946 when two men from Wausau decided to go into the heating business. Their names were Mr. Malry and Mr. Britton, hence the name "Malbrit" as it was taken from a combination of their two last names. The business was originally located on the corner of Jackson and Second Streets in downtown Wausau, where the Wausau Center Mall now stands.

Malbrit Heating & Cooling, Inc. was purchased in April of 1961 by the new owners, who soon after moved it to a larger building at 302 South 4th Street. The business was located at that address until 1975, when a new 8,000 square foot building was built at 310 South 4th Street, with a 3,000 square foot addition added in 2002. The business continues to operate there to this day.

To better reflect the company's direction, the name was changed to Malbrit Mechanical, Inc. in the fall of 2006. Our commitment to invest in technology and equipment has made Malbrit a competetive force in today's growing market. The owners continue to make Malbrit a company you can trust with service you can rely on.
